Colonial Independance

Exploring a new land created some inspiration, but I would say that the most effective subject of inspiration would be experiencing the renaissance. It was a time for original ideas, and new ways of thinking, and it opened up new doors and ways of seeing the world and it's development.
For example, the article "Common Sense" by Benjamin Franklin demonstrated new ideas about how the government was structured. He suggested that being a representative of the government was a privilege, and that the government worked for the people and not the other way around. The reason his article was so effective was because it was all relatively common sense, yet people had not thought of it in that way. He was able to get the majority of the people to agree with him and that helped in the defence against the biggest struggle of their time.
The colonists were not only frustrated because of the amount of control the government had, but because they abused that control in the sense of their own benefit and not necessarily the benefit of the people. To create a solution to this conflict, thirteen colonial representatives gathered and came up with the solution of creating the bill of rights, and presented it to the British Empire. With this peice of successful writing in hand, it inspired some pioneers to create the constitution of indipendance. Then they had the Revolutionary war because the King refused their request for independance, and after a successful battle the colonies signed a treaty and were finally independant on September 3.

Drawing

I learned that drawing can be beneficial in many ways. It helps you get creative in a healthy way, and can be a fun hobby!!
There are also many techniques to drawing. For example sketching, shading and lines are some of the many things that make a drawing.
My favorite thing to draw is cartoon characters because they're fun and easy!

The Effect of Colonization in Morocco

The biggest effect of colonization in morocco would be the language. There has been a french influence as well as Arabic. Though language has been one of the main effects of colonization, the architecture has been effected as well. Morocco has upgraded from dilapidated lower class buildings to cultural modern buildings with a Moroccan twist. Morocco still has it's range of class, but it is still improving.

Why History is Important

History is important in our lives because it affects the outcome of our success and our lives. For example if we didn't have history then we wouldn't have light bulbs, or t.v.'s. We would be living like cave men.
It's important for us to learn about the history because it gives us an idea of how far we have developed on the evolution scale. Some say that history repeats itself, so it's good to get an idea of what is ahead of us, so that we can be prepared.
Our personal history is important as well. It shows us our genes, and where we come from, and why we are where we are.
One of my personal experiences has to do a lot with my mom. She married another man, so now I have a step father. That has effected where I am today because if that had never happened, I wouldn't have his influence at all. I would probably be a changed person.

ESPERAT+G

ESPERAT is a way of combining all the links of Social Studies into one category. ESPERAT+G is the same thing, but with geography added to it. They put the G (geography) separate from all the other letters because it is more complex then all the other branches of Social Studies.
This is what all the letters stand for...
  • Economics
  • Sociology
  • Political Science
  • Religion
  • Arts
  • Technology

Suiside Car Boming

There was a car bombing in Western Iraq on Monday at a hospital checkpoint. Seven people were killed and fifteen were injured. The bombing was near Ramadi, the capital of western Anbar providence.

Site for picture: http://www.google.com/ Type in "car bomb"

(The reason I chose this article, is because when I lived in Qatar; there was a person from our school that was killed by a suicide car bombing. The bombing took place at a well known, and popular theatre. I had been at that theatre the previous night to see a production. It's scary to know that if I had decided to go one night later, I would have experienced that.)

The Five Main Reasons We Should Blog

1. Blogging is important because it extends our learning from outside the walls of our classroom.
2. I've heard that blogging can make learning fun. I think that is important that students enjoy learning, so they are motivated to do their work, and do not think of it as a chore.
3. Parents can be more involved with thier childrens education, by going directly to the source of their work.
4. Your work is permanently saved, and easily accessable.
5. You can communicate with other students all around the world.

Mr.Carpenter's assignment about our goals for the end of the year.

My goals for the end of the year are to get good grades, and to get involved with some school plays. Maybe try out some sports if I have time.
